Many of us make decisions based on our personal experiences and what we’ve gone through in life. Some choices are made subconsciously and go unquestioned.
You can’t expect someone who has lost a parent to think the same way as someone whose parents are still in their lives. They compartmentalize their experiences and act accordingly when they see familiar patterns resurface.
Having felt the pain of losing someone so close, many tend to avoid loving deeply or forming strong attachments, fearing the emotional pain of loss again. It takes patience and understanding to help such individuals let go of their fears and open up to meaningful connections once more.
Let’s remember to treat people as if we don’t know every part of them, because deep down, we all hide certain facets of ourselves rooted in our past experiences.
